twenty-twelve.

I started this blog in October of 2008.

It lived actively from October through February of 2009. Then it curled up and fell asleep.

I had started school that fall, and posting links and ideas and images kept me feeling creative, like I was doing something interesting in the midst of 100-level community college gen-ed credits. Then I skipped a day of posts, then a week until I just stopped posting all together. It’s what happens. Google me, the internet is littered with my good ideas that are promptly forgotten. But for some reason, I haven’t let go of this page. I still check in on it, make sure it’s still here. And wish that I took the time to keep it alive.

So, I’m beginning again.

Nothing ambitious, just a record of things I’m doing, seeing, enjoying, feeling.

I post a lot of pictures on instagram (@jedburkholder), I love the feel of a visual record of my days. I’ll probably post a weekly line-up of my favorite shots from the week.

I’ve started tracking my reading and movie watching habits on daytum (daytum.com/jedburkholder), and I’ll share the highlights here.

Sometimes I play around with a video camera, I’ll probably post the stuff I make here as well.

And I want to re-engage with the discipline of putting my thoughts onto the page. So I want to post a weekly essay of sorts. Just my thoughts on things happening around me.

Nothing ambitious, just a record of my days.

You’re welcome to take a look around.

a couple months ago, I shot some video of our friends Duane and Kelly as they got ready to welcome their little girl into their family.
